Feb 24, 2010 - By all means have a go. The barrel bushing has to be shortened as well as the recoil plug and all the strain is on that bushing just as in a real steel 1911. So make sure you notch out the inside of the slide to accept it properly! Don't rush the build like i did and have the barrel and barrel bushing blow across the room in the middle of a fire fight!!! You have been warned ;-) Good luck with it.
